 ACIDQUENCH  v1.2.0
 16-Step Acid Filter
 Tonecraft Tokyo
================================================================

* Overview

ACIDQUENCH is an effect plugin that applies a powerful filter to
external audio, allowing you to draw cutoff movements across
16 steps.

  - Draw custom cutoff shapes freely on the step lane.
  - Set accents on individual steps to create rhythmic movement.
  - Shape your tone by combining the envelope and distortion.
  - Includes 50 factory presets.
  - Supports the host DAW's bypass button.

By inserting it on a track in your DAW, you can transform various
sound sources into rhythmic and expressive sounds.

* Requirements

  OS               Windows 10 / 11 (64bit)
                   macOS 11 or later (Apple Silicon / Intel)
  Format           Windows: VST3 / Mac: VST3, AU
  Supported DAWs DAWs supporting VST3 or AU
  Output           Stereo / Mono
  Sample rate      44.1 kHz - 192 kHz
  Window size      1100 x 632 px (fixed)
  Screen language  Japanese / English
                   (follows the OS display language)

A slight latency is introduced for audio quality, but it is
automatically reported to your DAW so recording alignment is
preserved.

* Installation

[Windows]

  1. Extract this ZIP file.
  2. Copy the ACIDQUENCH.vst3 folder to the following location:

       C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\

  3. Launch your DAW and perform a plugin rescan.
     (If you copy the file while your DAW is running, changes may
     not take effect.)

To uninstall, delete the ACIDQUENCH.vst3 folder you copied.
If you also want to delete user presets, delete:
%APPDATA%\Tonecraft Tokyo\ACIDQUENCH\

[Mac]

  1. Extract this ZIP file.
  2. Copy ACIDQUENCH.vst3 and ACIDQUENCH.component to the following
     locations respectively:
     (~ represents your user home folder. You can open it by pasting
     the path into Finder: Go -> Go to Folder. Create the folder if
     it does not exist.)

       ACIDQUENCH.vst3      -> ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/
       ACIDQUENCH.component -> ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/

  3. Open Terminal (Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal), paste the
     following three lines one by one, and press Return:

       cd ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins
       xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine VST3/ACIDQUENCH.vst3
       xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine Components/ACIDQUENCH.component

     If nothing is displayed, it succeeded. If you do not run this,
     macOS will show messages like "is damaged and cannot be opened"
     or "cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified",
     and the DAW will not load the plugin. This command only removes
     the quarantine attribute that macOS attaches to downloaded files
     (you need to run it again when updating or reinstalling).
  4. Launch your DAW and perform a plugin rescan.
     (If the AU plugin does not appear in Logic Pro or other DAWs,
     restart your Mac.)

To uninstall, delete ACIDQUENCH.vst3 and ACIDQUENCH.component that
you copied. If you also want to delete user presets, delete:
~/Library/Tonecraft Tokyo/ACIDQUENCH/

* Quick start

  1. Insert on a DAW track.
  2. Start playback.
  3. Drag across the large lane at the bottom to draw the cutoff
     shape.
  4. Adjust DEPTH to control how strongly it takes effect.

For detailed instructions, see the bundled ACIDQUENCH_Manual_EN.html.

* About the download warning

[Windows]
Because the software is not code-signed, Windows SmartScreen may
display a warning. Click "More info" and then select "Run anyway"
to proceed.

[Mac]
Run the command in Step 3 of the installation instructions. Do the
same when updating or reinstalling.
