 SCOPE2  v1.2.0
 Waveform and Loudness Meter Plugin
 Tonecraft Tokyo
======================================================================

* Overview

SCOPE2 is a VST3 / AU plugin for visually monitoring audio level
dynamics.

  - 4 display modes: WAVE, RMS, PEAK, and LISSA (Lissajous)
  - Loudness meter (Integrated, Momentary, Short-term, LRA,
    True Peak)
  - Displays difference from target levels for Spotify (-14 LUFS)
    and broadcast (-23 LUFS)
  - L/R peak meters, peak hold, and a sticky CLIP indicator

A measurement-only plugin that does not alter audio. Inputs pass
straight through to outputs, so you can leave it inserted on a track
or master bus during mixing.

Recognized as a separate plugin from SCOPE. Existing projects using
SCOPE will not be replaced by SCOPE2.

* Requirements

  OS             Windows 10 / 11 (64bit)
                 macOS 11 or later (Apple Silicon / Intel)
  Format         Windows: VST3 (64bit) / Mac: VST3, AU
  Supported DAWs DAWs supporting VST3 or AU
  Audio I/O      Mono / Stereo
  Sample rates   44.1 kHz - 192 kHz
  Window size    1100 x 680 (fixed)

Audio passes through completely unprocessed, introducing zero
latency.

* Installation

[Windows]

  1. Extract this ZIP file.
  2. Copy the SCOPE2.vst3 folder to the following location:

       C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\

  3. Launch your DAW and perform a plugin rescan.
     (If you copy the file while your DAW is running, changes may
     not take effect.)

To uninstall, delete the SCOPE2.vst3 folder you copied. To also
remove saved user presets, delete %APPDATA%\SCOPE2\ as well.

[Mac]

  1. Extract this ZIP file.
  2. Copy SCOPE2.vst3 and SCOPE2.component to the following locations
     respectively:
     (~ represents your user home folder. You can open it by pasting
     the path into Finder: Go -> Go to Folder. Create the folder if
     it does not exist.)

       SCOPE2.vst3      -> ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/
       SCOPE2.component -> ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/

  3. Open Terminal (Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal), paste the
     following three lines one by one, and press Return:

       cd ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins
       xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine VST3/SCOPE2.vst3
       xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine Components/SCOPE2.component

     If nothing is displayed, it succeeded. If you do not run this,
     macOS will show messages like "is damaged and cannot be opened"
     or "cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified",
     and the DAW will not load the plugin. This command only removes
     the quarantine attribute that macOS attaches to downloaded files
     (you need to run it again when updating or reinstalling).
  4. Launch your DAW and perform a plugin rescan.
     (If the AU plugin does not appear in Logic Pro or other DAWs,
     restart your Mac.)

To uninstall, delete SCOPE2.vst3 and SCOPE2.component that you
copied. To also remove saved user presets, delete ~/Library/SCOPE2/
as well.

* Quick start

  1. Insert SCOPE2 at the end of your master track.
  2. Select STREAMING -14 LUFS or BROADCAST -23 LUFS from the presets
     at the top.
  3. Click RESET, play the song from start to finish, and observe
     INTEGRATED on the right (integrated loudness and difference
     from target) and TRUE PEAK MAX.

When inserted on an individual track, lowering that track's fader
will not affect the meter display (since it measures audio before
the fader). This is normal behavior, not a defect.

For detailed instructions, see the bundled SCOPE2_Manual_EN.html.

* About the download warning

[Windows]
Because the software is not code-signed, your web browser may show
a warning when downloading the ZIP. In that case, choose to keep or
allow the download.

Also, before unzipping, right-click the ZIP file and open Properties.
If you see "Security: This file came from another computer..." at
the bottom, check "Unblock", click OK, and then extract the files.

[Mac]
Run the command in Step 3 of the installation instructions. Do the
same when updating or reinstalling.

This product is a VST3 / AU plugin. It does not launch on its own;
your DAW loads it as a plugin.
