ENCOREHALL is a vocal plugin that wraps streamers’ singing voices in the room sound (reverb) of an authentic venue. Available as the free edition ENCOREHALL and the upgraded edition ENCOREHALL Pro with added features. This manual covers both editions. Features exclusive to the Pro edition are marked as “Pro only”.

Free vs Pro

In the free edition, the CATHEDRAL and DREAM buttons and the CLEAR knob have a PRO badge and cannot be operated.

1. Overview

ENCOREHALL is a vocal plugin designed for singing streamers. Free of complicated audio jargon, it wraps your singing voice in rich, spatial room sound through intuitive controls.

• Room sound chosen by scene: Offers 4 scenes in the free edition (STUDIO, KARAOKE, LIVE, HALL), plus CATHEDRAL and DREAM (Pro only). Pick the right space for the mood of your song with a single click.
• Lyrics stay clear (CLEAR knob, Pro only): Holds back room sound and echo naturally while you sing, and gently expands them during breaths or at the end of phrases. Lyrics never get buried even when you add plenty of space.
• Intuitive controls with zero technical jargon: Shape your sound just as you want with knobs: SPACE (“Amount”), SIZE (“Room size”), TONE (“Brightness”), ECHO (“Repeats”), and CLEAR (“Voice first”, Pro only).
• TALK button convenient for chatting: While pressed ON, no new voice is sent to the room sound and echo. Whatever is already ringing fades naturally, allowing you to transition smoothly to chatting while preserving the trailing tail after singing.
• Presets (free 14 / Pro 20) and preset saving (Pro only): Includes versatile presets ready for singing streams (14 in the free edition, 20 in Pro). You can also name, save, export, and import your own customized settings (Pro only).
• Zero latency: With zero latency from processing, you never have to worry about your voice drifting out of sync with your lips.
• Lightweight performance: Designed to run light so you can comfortably stream on the same PC.
• Reliable distortion prevention: Output levels are automatically controlled at the output stage so sound will not clip no matter how high you turn the knobs.

Installation (Windows)

1. Extract the downloaded ZIP file.
2. Copy the ENCOREHALL.vst3 folder (or ENCOREHALL Pro.vst3 for Pro) to the following location:
   C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\
3. Launch your DAW or streaming software (OBS) and run a plugin rescan (if you copy while the software is running, it may not detect the plugin).

Installation (Mac)

1. Extract the downloaded ZIP file.
2. Copy ENCOREHALL.vst3 (or ENCOREHALL Pro.vst3 for Pro) to ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/, and copy ENCOREHALL.component (or ENCOREHALL Pro.component for Pro) to ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ (~ represents your home folder. In Finder, open the “Go” menu, choose “Go to Folder…”, and paste the path. If the destination folder does not exist, create a new one).
3. Open Terminal (Applications → Utilities → Terminal), then copy and paste the following three lines one by one, pressing the Return key after each line:
   Free:

   cd ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins
   xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine VST3/"ENCOREHALL.vst3"
   xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine Components/"ENCOREHALL.component"

   Pro:

   cd ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins
   xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine VST3/"ENCOREHALL Pro.vst3"
   xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine Components/"ENCOREHALL Pro.component"

4. Launch your DAW or OBS and run a plugin rescan (if you copy while the software is running, it may not detect the plugin. If AU does not appear in Logic Pro or other DAWs, restart your Mac).

Uninstall

[Windows] Delete the copied ENCOREHALL.vst3 folder (or ENCOREHALL Pro.vst3 for Pro).
[Mac] Delete the copied ENCOREHALL.vst3 and ENCOREHALL.component files (or ENCOREHALL Pro.vst3 and ENCOREHALL Pro.component for Pro).
For Pro, if you also wish to delete your saved settings (user presets), also delete the %APPDATA%\Tonecraft Tokyo\ENCOREHALL Pro\ folder (on Mac, ~/Library/Tonecraft Tokyo/ENCOREHALL Pro/).

4. Using with OBS

OBS cannot load VST3 plugins directly, so install the free OBS plugin “atkAudio Plugin” and host ENCOREHALL inside it. OBS Studio 31.1.1 or later (64-bit) is required.

1. Download and run the installer for your OS from the atkAudio Plugin download page.
2. Open OBS and click “Filters” on your microphone audio source.
3. Click “+” and add “atkAudio Plugin Host”.
4. Click “Open Plugin Settings”, then choose “Scan for new or updated VST3 plugins” from “Options” to detect plugins (first time only).
5. Choose ENCOREHALL (or ENCOREHALL Pro for Pro) from the list and click “Load Plugin” to load it, then open the UI and turn the knobs.

* In DAWs (such as Ableton Live), insert it as a standard effect on your vocal track.

5. The screen

Header bar (top)

• Logo & version: Shows the logo and version in the top-left corner of the window.
• Preset bar: Located in the center of the header. Clicking opens the preset list (free 14 / Pro 20) to easily switch settings. Left and right arrows navigate through previous and next presets. In Pro, you can name and save your customized settings, as well as export and import them to files (Pro only).
• TALK button (“Less on talk”): A manual button located in the top-right corner of the header. When clicked ON (lit), no new voice is sent to the room sound and echo. Whatever is already ringing fades naturally, allowing you to transition smoothly to chatting without cutting off the trailing tail after singing. Turn it on during chat, and turn it back off before singing your next song.

Help line

• Located right below the header. Hovering over a button or knob displays the meaning of that control and usage tips (shown in English on English operating systems, or in Japanese on Japanese systems).

SCENE

Pick the singing space from the buttons (4 in the free edition, 6 in Pro). The selected button lights up.

• STUDIO (“Bright”): Cleanly treated room sound. Ideal for singing bright and crisp.
• KARAOKE (“Cozy”): Familiar karaoke room sound. Pairs well with echo to make singing feel natural and effortless.
• LIVE (“Club”): Energetic live club room sound. Fits energetic tracks and rock.
• HALL (“Concert”): Elegant and spacious concert hall room sound. The standard choice when you are unsure.
• CATHEDRAL (“Stone”) (Pro only): Majestic cathedral room sound with high ceilings. Fits mellow ballads and hymns. In the free edition, it has a PRO badge and cannot be selected.
• DREAM (“Endless”) (Pro only): Dreamy, floating room sound. Creates a vast space that seems to go on forever. In the free edition, it has a PRO badge and cannot be selected.
• Scene description: The display area at the bottom left of the screen shows the characteristics of the currently selected scene (in English on English operating systems, or in Japanese on Japanese systems).

STAGE

• Room sound display: Located at the top center of the screen. The recent state of your voice and room sound scrolls from right to left. Direct voice level is drawn as a grey fill, and returning room sound and echo level is drawn as a cyan line.
• “Voice first” indicator (Pro only): Located inside the room sound display (bottom right). Lights up while CLEAR is active, holding back room sound and echo according to your singing voice.
• SPACE (“Amount”): Adjusts how much room sound to add. Setting to 0 removes all room sound, leaving only the direct sound. If a song has backing music that already has plenty of space, setting it lower keeps things clean.
• SIZE (“Room size”): Adjusts the room size within the selected scene. Turning it up makes the room larger, extending the lingering tail after you finish singing.
• TONE (“Brightness”): Adjusts the brightness of the room sound. Lower values give a soft, gentle sound, while higher values give a bright, sparkling sound. Adjust this if your voice sounds muffled or if S sounds become noticeable.
• ECHO (“Repeats”): Repeats your singing voice with a slight gap, like karaoke. Turning it up makes repeats louder and continue longer. The spacing of the repeats is automatically tailored to the selected scene and SIZE. At 0, no echo is applied.
• CLEAR (“Voice first”) (Pro only): Naturally holds back returning room sound and echo while you sing, and gently expands them during breaths or at the end of phrases. Even with generous room sound and echo, lyrics do not blur and stand out clearly. At 0, no voice-based adjustment occurs, returning a steady room sound at all times. In the free edition, it has a PRO badge and cannot be adjusted.

OUT (“Level”) meter

• A vertical meter on the right edge of the screen. If the display stays within the center target band while you sing, your voice is at an easy-to-hear, suitable level for streaming.
• Output levels are automatically and safely controlled at the output stage so sound will not clip no matter how high you turn the knobs.

6. How to use

1. First, pick a scene from SCENE that matches the song you want to sing (choose HALL if unsure).
2. Choose a preset close to the mood of the song, or try singing with the default settings.
3. Turn SPACE while singing to adjust to a pleasant amount of room sound.
4. Turn SIZE up when you want a long, expansive tail, or down when you want it tight.
5. Adjust TONE to tune voice clarity and brightness.
6. Turn ECHO up when you want to add a karaoke-style repeating feel.
7. If adding space makes lyrics harder to understand, turn up CLEAR (Pro only). Room sound pulls back only while singing, letting words come through distinctly.
8. When a song finishes and you transition to chat, press TALK to light it up. Remember to turn TALK off before singing the next song.
9. Once you find settings you like, it is convenient to name and save them from the preset bar in the header (Pro only).

* Default settings are HALL, SPACE: 40, SIZE: 50, TONE: 50, ECHO: 30, CLEAR: 40 (Pro only), TALK: OFF.

8. Tips

• Fast-tempo songs: Choose STUDIO or LIVE and keep SIZE and SPACE slightly lower to sing cleanly without interfering with the rhythm.
• Ballads and calm songs: Choose HALL or CATHEDRAL (Pro only) and set SIZE higher to wrap your voice in a rich tail.
• To deliver lyrics clearly (Pro only): Raising CLEAR to around 50–70 preserves a rich tail on held notes and phrase endings while keeping the start of words clear.
• Resetting knob values: Double-clicking or right-clicking any knob resets it to its default value.
